The Eye of the Underground

Artist's Statement and Commentary:

I’m DIRTYDISCO! A trans black singer, model, and photographer. I found the underground community through singing and playing places with the band Jems — and instantly fell in love with it. I was so inspired by the scene and how so many people were so comfortable with just being themselves. It’s what drives me to capture these moments — the individuality of each photo — and the people in front of the camera. Huge shoutout to Kurt Donavan and his, “Underground Development” series, where all of these photos were taken. I hope to inspire more people to create with their hearts and souls — and to put that art out there for many to love and enjoy.
